Upromise Video Contest Offers $25,000 in College Tuition

Posted on

Upromise Inc. is tapping into the user-generated content craze with a video contest offering the chance to win $25,000 toward college tuition or student loans.

The contest is the latest incentive the college-savings program provider has rolled out to promote its rewards offerings.

People submit video clips (30 seconds or less) to the Upromise Tuition Tales contest describing their need for college aid. Videos can be uploaded to
http://www.upromise.com/tuitiontales through March 23. Entries can include everything from a grandmother talking about her dreams for her granddaughter or a high school senior singing about going to college.

A panel of judges will narrow down the entries to 10 finalists. Each will receive a $500 Bed Bath & Beyond gift card. Beginning April 1, visitors to the site can vote for their favorite video through April 16.

Online marketing supports the promotion. EPrize is administering the contest for Upromise.

Launched in 2001, the loyalty-reward program lets consumers earn rebates in a college savings account for tuition when they buy participating brands. The program has more than 8 million members and has distributed $400 million in member rewards.
