TV Guide Reprises ‘Sexiest Stars’ Contest
TV Guide is running its second annual TV Sexiest Stars promotion, with fan voting starting today in various categories for most appealing male and female celebrities.
Fans can vote for their favorites in 20 categories, including sexiest cast, sexiest reality star and sexiest sidekick, at http://www.TVGuide.com/SexiestStars. Results of that polling, and the TV Guide editors’ choices, will be published in the May 5 issue of the magazine and online.
“The whole initiative is about celebrating the sexiest stars on television and we want viewers to feel they have a role in it,” said Debora Birnbaum, TV Guide executive editor, of the cross-promotion.
TV fans will also be able to portray themselves as “TV Sexiest Fans” by uploading photos of themselves and friends to the TV Guide site, and editing them into mock front covers of the magazine. After they upload the photos, they’ll receive passwords so they can access the mock covers and e-mail them to friends or post them on Facebook pages.
Starting April 15, TVGuide.com and TV Guide Network’s “Hollywood 411” will be counting down the editors’ selections in the respective categories. The overall sexiest male and female stars will appear on special covers of the May 5 issue, hitting newsstands on May 1.
Articles contrasting the editors’ and fans’ picks will appear in the magazine and online, and also received coverage on “Hollywood 411”.
