Toys‘R’Us Offers In-Store Rewards for Playing Its ‘Towers’ Facebook Game

ToysRUs logoToys”R”Us has teamed up with Ubisoft to launch “Toys’R’Us Towers,” a free Facebook game that’s offering shoppers real-world benefits. The game gives players the chance to “step into the shoes of the newest employee at Toys’R’Us” as a manager of their own toy store. Players can accumulate experience and sales to work their way up through seven levels, from trainee to CEO. There’s also a social aspect to the game, of course, as players can share resources with their friends, help others in weekly events and compete with each other. There’s also in-game currency, which players can purchase and spend to help their progress. Within the first hour of playing the game, players receive a coupon good for 15 percent off a Toys”R”Us online or in-store purchase. “Towers” will be available on mobile devices in the coming months. This is certainly a unique way to reward online engagement with real-world benefits. (MediaPost, PR Newswire)
