Thrifty Car Rental Prepays Tolls in Florida

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Thrifty Car Rental is offering prepaid road tolls with select car rentals when customers use American Express cards at participating locations in Florida.

The incentive, dubbed Pass24, runs through March 31. It’s an expansion of a program Thrifty previously introduced in Dallas, Houston and Denver, where it produced a significant impact on rentals.

“We did see a lot of lift,” said Thrifty spokesman Chris Payne. “It depends on the kind of driving people are planning on doing.”

Thrifty is promoting the program in Florida with signage at its rental counters, Payne said. Pass24 covers approximately 680 miles of toll roads statewide.

The pre-paid toll service normally costs Thrifty customers $5.95 per day in Florida. Pass24 offers free inclusion of the service with intermediate sized cars ($38 per day), mini-vans ($41 per day) or premium and convertible cars ($44 per day). Customers must enter promo code AXTL when making rentals to receive the prepaid service.

Thrifty locations in Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Meyers, Jacksonville, Key West, Miami Naples, Sanford, Tallahassee, West Palm Beach and Tampa are offering Pass24.
