TheFind.com’s Color Search Raises Funds for Global Doctors

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Shopping search engine TheFind.com announced that its “Color for a Cause” fund-raising promotion raised $10,000 for the Doctors Without Borders medical aid organization.

TheFind.com built the fund-raiser on its “search by color” technology, which lets users filter its 150 million product offerings using a color-spectrum pop-up tool.

To promote the feature, launched in early December, TheFind.com announced it would donate $1 to Doctors Without borders for every search for a red item on its site. The company set an upper limit of $10,000 for the total donation.

The promotion was publicized through a marketing partnership with women’s blogging network BlogHer LLC.

Larisa Hall, vice president of marketing for TheFind.com, said the company plans to make “Color for a Cause” a recurring philanthropic even and is currently researching other charities as possible beneficiaries.
