TechnoBrands Founder Forced Out

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

(Catalog Age)–Charles Anton, founder and CEO of TechnoBrands, was fired by the majority of the board of directors on March 27.

Anton remains a member of the board. The directors who voted to terminate Anton were unhappy with how he handled the Federal Trade Commission’s allegations last year of deceptive advertising and misleading buyer’s club billing procedures, sources said.

Mark Gordon, the firm’s president and COO, has stepped in to handle Anton’s responsibilities.

Although neither side would comment on the situation, catalog director Shardul Pandya said that despite all that’s going on, “things are running great, the company is doing fine. The catalog is mailing on time, sales are coming in, and products are being shipped.”

TechnoBrands, Colonial Heights, VA, sells gadgets and health products through its catalog.
