Swedish Match AB has completed its purchase of Cigars International Inc., a cigar and related products direct marketer. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
As of Sept. 1, Cigars International has been consolidated into Swedish Match, a group of companies that markets a variety of smokeless tobacco, cigars, pipe tobacco and related products.
Keith Meier, founder and CEO of Cigars International, and John De Marco, the company’s VP and COO, will continue in their roles. Cigars International will be operated as a complementary business to Swedish Match AB’s existing U.S. operations, Swedish Match North America and General Cigar Holdings.
Cigars International employs 100 people. The company is located in Bath, PA.
