Sunoco Revs NASCAR Sponsorship

Posted on

Sunoco kicked off its new 10-year NASCAR sponsorship with a slate of summer promos timed to the Daytona 500, NASCAR Nextel Cup, NASCAR Busch and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

Philadelphia-based Sunoco has sponsored a NASCAR team since the 1980s. Its new deal makes it the official fuel for key NASCAR races for the next 10 years.

Richard Petty stars in radio spots that broke during the Daytona 500 on Feb. 15 and run throughout the racing season. A Sunoco Fuel Force, three street teams in Sunoco-branded trucks, cruised Daytona for three days, using air-pressure cannons to launch Sunoco-branded T-shirts to racing fans. The street crews also will take laps in the Busch and Nextel opening parades.
