StrongMail Signs Tricia Robinson

E-mail technology provider StrongMail has hired long-time industry executive Tricia Robinson as its new vice president of market and product strategy.

She replaces Dave Lewis who resigned from StrongMail earlier this month.

Robinson is a high-profile hire for StrongMail. She has been a regular contributor to marketing trade publications and speaker at industry conferences.

“My job will be helping StrongMail understand what marketers need from the e-mail channel and developing products and services to meet those needs,” she said.

With the exception of a year-long break that began when she resigned her position as senior vice president of marketing at communications outsourcer Premier Global Services last October, Robinson has been in the e-mail marketing industry about as long as it’s been a viable sales channel

She co-founded e-mail marketing software provider Socketware in 1997—which was later renamed Accucast—with four others, including her husband CEO Michael Pridemore. She was chief marketing officer.

They sold Accucast to Premiere Global in February 2006 for an undisclosed sum.

When asked about Pridemore, she said he is still enjoying his time off.

Robinson is the second Accucast/Premier Global e-mail executive to join StrongMail.

Deliverability specialist Spencer Kollas left Premier Global last December to take a consulting position with StrongMail.

When asked why she took a job with StrongMail, Robinson said: “I like the management team and I like where they’re going. They are responsible stewards of e-mail as a marketing channel.”
