Slim Jim Suits Up for Six Flags

Slim Jim and Orville Redenbacher will spend a lot of time at Six Flags theme parks this summer.

ConAgra will put those brand names on roller coasters and theaters as part of ConAgra’s multi-year Six Flags sponsorship. The deal, announced in January, covers Six Flags’ 28 parks and a slate of ConAgra brands, including Van Camp’s baked beans, Armour hot dogs and Hunt’s ketchup (Jan. 26 Xtra).

Slim Jim lends its name to extreme roller coasters and rides in 10 parks; the Orville Redenbacher name goes on 18 theaters in Six Flags parks.

Slim Jim will run a “100 Days of Summer” sampling campaign with stilt-walkers dressed in Slim Jim attire strolling the parks and giving out meat snacks samples, including new Pepperoni flavored Slim Jim. Event-marketing agency Ignition, Atlanta, handles.

Meanwhile, Van Camp’s will run its own summer instant-win game awarding five grand-prize Lifetime Family Passes to the parks. Lesser prizes include a family pack of four passes (200 winners) and one children’s pass (1,000 winners). Millions of Van Camp’s labels will carry a “Six Flags Dollar” coupon worth $1 in food, games or merchandise in parks. Local radio and FSIs dropping May 15 and June 26 support. Van Camp’s also will sample at parks throughout the summer.

Omaha, NE-based ConAgra will run a June Run the Fun sweeps awarding a grand-prize trip for 20 to any Six Flags park. ConAgra also will run multi-brand FSIs touting free kids’ tickets with the purchase of an adult ticket, and a mail-in offer for a Fun Book in exchange for proofs of purchase from participating brands.
