Nominations are now being accepted for The 72nd Annual Direct Marketing Association International ECHO Awards to be presented at the DMA’s 84th Annual Conference & Exhibition in Chicago on Oct. 28. This year, three special awards – the ibm.com ECHO Digital Award and two Millennium awards – will be added to the areas of special recognition. Entry submissions must be postmarked by April 23. Applications postmarked after April 16 are subject to a late fee of $75. No entries will be accepted after April 23, 2001. Applications can be downloaded at http://www.dma-echo.org/entry.htm. Entrants must use the electronic form. No other form or substitution will be accepted. All creative samples must include an English translation of all copy elements.

Myrka Dellanos, host of Univision Network’s news-magazine show, “Primer Impacto – Edicion Estelar,” was named “Hispanic of the Year” by Directo, the Direct Marketing Association’s Council for Hispanic Marketing. Dellanos was honored March 9 during the 8th Annual Directo Hispanic Marketing Days Conference at the Wyndham Miami Beach.

GolfServe Online Inc., Chicago has changed its name to SirenServ Inc. The company is a provider of syndicated golf-related online content and services, and with the new name plans to expand into food and wine and health and fitness.
