Shopkick, a location-based shopping app, recently partnered with Constellation Brands Inc. to feature alcoholic beverages. The app, which boasts more than 4 million iPhone and Android users, rewards shoppers for visiting and engaging with products at brick-and-mortar locations. The partnership with Constellation Brands means that shoppers can earn “kicks” (i.e., redeemable rewards points) when they walk into a partner retail location, scan the bar code of one of the company’s alcoholic beverages, or by viewing a Shopkick “lookbook” of food and wine pairings. In mid-October, Shopkick revamped its app to add digital catalogs and the ability for users to save product lists. The update also gave users a mapping feature, which groups district/shopping areas to help them shop more efficiently. (Constellation Brands)
