‘Seinfeld’ Fans Pick Episodes for National Syndication

“Seinfeld” fans eager to see once again the episode about the soup Nazi or the man-bra can select their favorite in a poll on Yahoo.com for a special national syndication spin next month.

Through Nov. 5, clips from 35 episodes will be accessible for streaming on Yahoo TV at http://tv.yahoo.com/. Viewers can choose 10 episodes that will air during the two weeks beginning Nov. 12 and Nov. 18.

Voters will also be entered in a sweepstakes to win a $4,500 shopping spree on http://www.Overstock.com and the DVD set “Seinfeld: The Complete Ninth Season” to be released in stores on Nov. 6. “Seinfeld” hats, t-shirts and mugs are among the secondary prizes.

“This promotion is a great way to let ‘Seinfeld’s’ huge viewer base vote on and watch their favorite episodes in the November sweeps,” said Rober Oswaks, executive vice president of marketing for Sony Pictures Television, in a statement.

The campaign and resulting episode lineup could pump up ratings for the nationally syndicated comedy during the ratings sweeps period. It will also keep “Seinfeld” videos top of mind as holiday presents, with the “Viewers Choice” weeks segueing nicely into the post-Thanksgiving shopping season.
