San Loco Celebrates Anniversary with 20 Cent Tacos

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

San Loco is toasting its 20th anniversary with an in-store promotion offering customers tacos for 20 cents.

The taco promotion runs 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 20 at the company’s four New York locations. Each customer can purchase up to five hard shell beef or bean/rice tacos under the offer.

San Loco expects to sell about 4,000 tacos, more than triple its traditional Sunday sales for the product. Typically, hard shell tacos range from $1.75 to $2.00 each.

“We thought it would be a great driver to get people into the restaurants,” said Vera Sheps, president, Two Sheps That Pass, the agency handling the promotion. “The whole objective of this campaign is to thank our existing customers for twenty years of patronage and to bring new customers in to the restaurants.”

San Loco will promote the offer via e-mail blasts to its database, with postcard drops and through blogs, radios spots, print ads and PR.
