Royal Caribbean Taps Betsy O’Rourke To Be Senior VP Of Marketing

Cruise line Royal Caribbean International has named Betsy O’Rourke senior VP of marketing. O’Rourke will be responsible for all aspects of the cruise line’s marketing program, including brand strategy and positioning, consumer and trade advertising, web and loyalty marketing, research, brand development and communications. She will report directly to Adam Goldstein, Royal Caribbean International’s president and CEO.

“We are delighted to have Betsy join our team,” said Goldstein. “With the upcoming launch of Oasis of the Seas and so many other exciting initiatives on the immediate horizon, we feel that Betsy’s impressive history of creativity and proven results will continue the momentum of innovation the brand has created,” said Goldstein.

O’Rourke has more than 25 years of marketing and communications experience. Most recently, she served as senior VP of marketing and communications for Wyndham Worldwide. At Wyndham, she was responsible for developing corporate marketing programs, oversaw media relations and served as marketing liaison within the company’s various business units, including Wyndham Hotel Group; Group RCI, a vacation exchange and rental company; and Wyndham Vacation Ownership, a timeshare company.

Previously, she served as senior VP of marketing for the Travel Industry Association of America, where she created SeeAmerica, an international umbrella marketing program for the U.S. travel industry. At SeeAmerica, she was recognized for her leadership in the 9/11 travel industry recovery campaign.

O’Rourke has also held marketing positions at Choice Hotels International as a senior vice president, principal of Betsy Bromberg & Associates and director of marketing and communications at the American Hotel & Lodging Association.
