Q3 Profits Up 44% at aQuantive

Online ad firm aQuantive reported a 44% year-over-year increase in profits for third-quarter 2006.

Net quarterly income at the Seattle-based company was $13.6 million, compared to $9.4 million for the same period in 2005. Third-quarter revenue grew 41% year-over-year to $111 million.

AQuantive’s digital marketing services division had operating income of $14.3 million on revenue of $67.7 million for the quarter, compared to $8.9 million and $48.5 million in Q3 2005. Ad agency Avenue A/Razorfish is part of this group.

The online advertising networks Drivepm and MediaBrokers make up aQuantive’s digital performance media unit. This segment nearly tripled its quarterly operating profit to $2.7 million on sales of $13.4 million, from $1 million in operating income on sales of $6.8 million in the same period a year ago.

And aQuantive’s digital marketing technologies group reported operating income of $12.2 million on revenue of $29.9 million in Q3 2006. That compares to $10.6 million in operating income and $23.5 million in revenue last year.

Avenue A/Razorfish purchased two international interactive ad agencies during the quarter, one in Australia and another in Germany, and began the fourth quarter with yet another overseas agency purchase in Hong Kong.
