CHOICE HOTELS INTERNATIONAL’S: loyalty program, Choice Privileges, has expanded its partners to include the Econo Lodge and Rodeway Inn hotel brands. More than 1,000 Econo Lodge and Rodeway Inn hotels have transitioned from the Easy Choice rewards programs to Choice Privileges. The move lets the company operate a single guest loyalty program. About 6 million belong to the club.

AMERICAN AIRLINES INC.: has named Robert J. Friedman president of AAdvantage marketing programs, the airline’s loyalty program. He replaces Kurt Stache, who was named the company’s vice president and general sales manager. Friedman previously worked as managing director of reservations. He also worked in American’s revenue management department and interactive marketing group. AAdvantage formed 25 years ago and has about 60 million members.
