Papa John’s Runs Sweeps for Bowl Game Trip

Papa John’s is pushing fan interest in its upcoming self-titled college football bowl game with a contest to send two people to the game.

Its search for “Papa’s Favorite Fan” commenced this week. People register at www.papajohns.com/favoritefan through Dec. 8. The winner gets tickets for two as VIP guests at the Papajohns.com Bowl in Birmingham, AL, on Dec. 22.

The prize package includes transportation and hotel accommodations for the weekend, a seat next to Papa John’s founder John Schnatter during the game, VIP treatment at the Papajohns.com Street Festival, parade and pep rally and a year of free Papa John’s pizza.

“I hope football fans nationwide will jump on board for their chance to grab a seat at the game, especially when that seat happens to be right next to me,” said Schnatter in a statement.

Last year was the inaugural Papajohns.com Bowl, one of several post-season college contests spawned in recent year by corporate sponsors—and an appetite for football among U.S. TV viewers as illimitable as their appetite for pizza.

Fleishman-Hillard helped develop the idea for the promotion.
