Cable network Oxygen is out with a contest tied to the upcoming season of Mo’Nique’s F.A.T. Chance that lets viewers pick three finalists to send to the show’s final casting call in Los Angeles.

The network is asking fans to upload videos explaining why they should be the next Miss F.A.T. (“Fabulous and Thick”) in Mo’Nique’s F.A.T. Chance, a full-figured beauty competition that airs exclusively on Oxygen.

Consumers can enter at Oxygen.com through April 9. The first 100 people who qualify will be eligible. A panel of judges will narrow down the pool to 10 finalists and let viewers cast their votes for their favorites.

The three women with the most votes will fly to Los Angeles for the final casting call and meet with Mo’Nique and producers and compete with the other finalists. The grand prize also includes $1,500 spending money.

Contest finalists will appear in a casting special scheduled to run on Oxygen at 10 p.m. on July 21.

The promotion marks the first time Oxygen is giving viewers a chance to participate in the show. Online materials and e-mails blasts support the contest.

“It’s a way for us to give back to our audience and to tap into what they really want,” said Cynthia Ashworth, senior vice president of marketing for Oxygen, in a statement.

Dave Networks, Inc., handles the Web site; Oxygen handles the contest in-house.
