Office Depots Ties Sweeps to Classroom Supplies

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Office Depot’s goal of getting kids to sing happy tunes this school year might be a bit overstated, but its new promotion with platinum selling recording artist Gavin DeGraw may help drive sales.

The Great Tunes to Start School Concert Sweepstakes features the singer in a national campaign where one school will win a private concert by DeGraw. He will also address the students about the importance of education in helping kids reach their goals.

Schools get entered automatically into the contest when the school’s ID number is provided by parents, students or teachers when they shop at Office Depot stores, via phone at 1-800-GO-DEPOT or at OfficeDepot.com through Aug. 31.

The promo is tied to Office Depot’s 5% Back to School Program that turns customer purchases into credits schools can use for classroom supplies.
