WALGREENS: has named Gregory D. Wasson as CEO, effect Feb. 1. Wasson, 50, will replace Alan G. McNally, 63, who has served as chairman and acting CEO since October. McNally will remain chairman of Walgreens board. Wasson will retain the post of president, a position he assumed in 2007 when he was also named COO of the company.

KELLOGG: is trying to drive sales of its Pop-Tarts toaster pastries with an instant-win game. People who buy specially marked packages have a chance to win a $10 iTunes gift card. The promotion, which runs through Feb. 1, 2010, is open to people 12 and older. The company is giving away 60,000 iTunes gift cards in all.
