EVENT AND P.R. SHOP: The Ad*itive, Philadelphia, has severed ties with Havas through a management-led buy-back. The agency had been part of Havas’ network for four years. Now independent, Ad*itive will keep handling a mix of advertising, events and p.r. for clients including The American Legacy Foundation, Volkswagen of America, Amtrak and Coty. Monroe Blakes remains as Ad*itive chairman.

CEREALITY: Cereal Bar & Café will open its third restaurant in Chicago. The all-cereal restaurant has sites on Arizona State University’s campus and in Philadelphia near the University of Pennsylvania. The downtown Chicago site will target officer workers (Dec. 30 Xtra).

FENWAY SPORTS GROUP: has been hired by Boston College to develop a year-round collegiate sports marketing and multi-media partnership program aimed at showcasing its upcoming membership into the Atlantic Coast Conference. The partnership will focus on acquiring new marketing agreements, driving merchandise sales, building corporate sponsorships and new regional media partners, while expanding the fan base of Boston College Athletics.
