THE TAN CO.: has launched a scratch and win game offering the chance to win two grand prizes of a one year paid World Membership through March 31. Customers receive a game card with any transaction. Other prizes include free one week passes, discounts on tanning product discounts buy one, get one package offers for $5 offers. About 200,000 game cards will be made available for the promotion. Each card is a winner. The game is designed to drive traffic and heighten awareness about the company’s and products. In-store materials support the campaign, which Robust Promotions LLC developed.

CLASSIC MEDIA: has appointed Colin McLaughlin to licensing manager to help the company strengthen its brand presence at retail. The post went into effect immediately. McLaughlin, who reports to Karyn Schneider, vice president of licensing, is in charge of building partnerships in North America with licensees and retailers, leveraging the firm’s children’s and family properties, including Casper the Friendly Ghost, George of the Jungle, Guess with Jess, Gumby, Underdog, and Where’s Waldo? Prior to that, McLaughlin was senior manager of brand licensing for Steve & Barry’s, where he negotiated contracts, managed the product development process and helped grow revenue through in-store marketing, merchandising, sweepstakes and events.
