SAFEWAY: has signed a deal with Olympic figure skating champion Kristi Yamaguchi as a spokesperson for its ongoing “Lunchbox Winners” produce program. This program offers parents ideas for school lunches and snacks and supports the Fruits & Veggies—More Matters program. Supported this latest campaign are in-store displays and an interactive website. Yamaguchi is being featured this month offering “inside tips.”
ALCONE MARKETING GROUP: has hired Carolyn Capshaw as senior vice president and chief creative officer for Alcone/East, responsible for creative product for clients handled out of the Darien, CT offices. Capshaw has worked for Alcone in the past. She rejoins the agency from Ryan Partnership where she was senior partner, vice presdient concept director heading integrated program development for W.J. Deutsch, Hasbro, Nestle Waters, Unilever, Energizer, Playtex and Bacardi. Alcone Marketing Group is Promo’s 2010 Agency of the Year . It ranked No. 23 on the 2010 Promo 100 with $62.4 million in U.S. net revenue. The call for the call for the 2011 Promo 100 opens in February.
