Network Noise

There are so many CPA Networks for publishers to pick from currently. What makes you so different? Below, I will discuss some basic elements necessary to capture your publishers’ attention.

According to Shawn Collins the Affstats 2005 survey affiliates want to see these 4 major attributes within a program:

1. Experienced Affiliate Management – Affiliate Managers that can quickly help  and educate affiliates to earn more money.
2. Earning per Click – Do your campaigns perform?
3. Payout and History – Do you pay on time, every time? Has your company had a good reputation over the years?
4. Brand Awareness – Do consumers know your campaigns?

Experienced affiliate management is no longer easy to find. Establishing relationships and technical experience with your affiliates is extremely important. First, today’s Manager must be able stand out and connect personally with affiliates. Second, the affiliate manager should posses HTML and site usability skills to help provide high converting creative and web sites. In addition, these skills will help better assist with everyday technical glitches. Lastly, analytical skills to assess which creative, landing pages and affiliates are converting the highest.

Earnings per click, is an extremely important metric to use in measuring the success of your creative, landing pages, affiliates and/or product. The higher your earnings per click relative to the competition, the better chance you will have of affiliates running your campaigns. This process is only done through years of experience or testing.

Payout shows that you’re willing to compete with the marketplace. History shows that you have a track record to prove that you are worthy of their business. Affiliates are in this business to earn commission. Therefore, your payouts must be extremely competitive to gain the first look at your campaign. You must prove that you have a positive vibe for a period of time before any high traffic affiliates will risk their traffic with you. Affiliates have been burned by to many companies and have spent years developing relationships with other networks to risk it on a new company with no track record.

The bigger the brand names the higher the conversions and the bigger the traffic. It is that simple. Affiliates have a much better chance of promoting a brand name that consumers feel comfortable with. Since consumers are familiar with the brand, affiliates will see a much higher response.

In summary, if your CPA Network doesn’t fulfill the need of the affiliate first then your traffic will dry up fast. Networks today aren’t just bringing campaigns for affiliates to run.  Today’s networks must follow some basic fundamentals to acquire high-end affiliates. If you follow the above suggestions, you will find more long-term success with your program.
