More Than 1 in 5 Online Buyers Plan to Buy Holiday Gifts via Mobile Devices This Year

Holiday shoppingAccording to MarketLive, 21 percent of online buyers in the U.S. plan to purchase holiday gifts with their mobile devices this year, a large increase from the 11 percent who planned to do the same last year. The survey also found that 42 percent of online shoppers will check for sales and specials via their smartphones before visiting a store this holiday season, while 41 percent will look for competitive pricing on Amazon and 37 percent will browse online stores for products of interest. A third of online buyers will do their holiday shopping on the Internet, while 19 percent will head to stores and 9 percent will use catalogs. (eMarketer)
