MIN DB Shut Down Following Storm in OK

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

During a wild late-April storm, a lightning bolt struck Marketing Information Network’s Oklahoma City facility, shutting down its database of 36,000 data card listings for almost two days. The service is used by some 400 clients daily.

Concerned customers immediately began calling and MIN sent out an e-mail blast to clients to let them know what happened, says MIN executive administrator Tonie Melton.

While the service was down, MIN conducted business by sending out data on CD-ROMs.

Losses were still being determined at press time.
