Nielsen//NetRatings recently released the top brands in terms of unique visitors and time spent on the sites. Microsoft topped the list of parent companies in terms of total unique visitors in August, while FullTiltPoker.com topped the list of stickiest brands for the month.

Microsoft drew a total unique audience of 118.1 million in August, with each visitor spending an average of a little over 2 hours and 11 minutes on the company’s Web properties. Google was second on the list of the top 25 parent companies, with a unique audience of 116.9 million in August, with each person spending an average of 1 hour and 40 minutes on its properties.

Yahoo! was third on the list, with a total unique audience of 110.7 million, with each visitor spending an average of almost 3 hours and 21 minutes on its online properties. Time Warner was fourth on the list with a unique audience of 106.6 million for the month, and also had the longest time spent on its properties for each of its visitors with a time of 3 hours and 56 minutes.

News Corp. Online, eBay, InterActiveCorp, Amazon.com, Walt Disney Internet Group, and the Wikimedia Foundation rounded out the top 10 on the list.

However, none of these Web properties held a candle to the top sites on the list of the stickiest brands in August. FullTiltPoker.com topped this list, and though it only had a total unique audience of 1.4 million, each of its users spent an average of a little over 23 hours and 33 minutes on the site during August.

PokerStars.com was second on the list, with a unique audience of 1.6 million in August, with each visitor spending an average of 18 hours and 5 minutes on the site.

Electronic Arts Online, Fanfiction.net, Absolute Poker, 2Wire, PartyPoker.com, AOL Media Network, Trillian, and SingleClick Systems rounded out the top 10 list.

Both lists took into account both home and work audiences.
