McDonald’s Seeks Votes for Crew Talent Contest

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

McDonald’s is looking for customer feedback to help choose the winner in its employee Olympic video contest.

Visitors to http://osom.mcdonalds.com can vote for their favorite videos submitted by members of the company’s 2008 Olympic Champion Crew through Aug. 7. In the contest, each crewmember created a short video expressing his or her Olympic spirit using just five words.

In all, 22 finalists are competing for a chance to win $2,500. Second- and third-place winners will each receive $1,500 and $1,000, respectively.

The “Olympic Spirit of McDonald’s Crew” contest is one way the company is spreading the word about its ongoing sponsorship of the 2008 Olympic Games. The company also created new menu items and an online game as part of its sponsorship (Promo Xtra, July 3, 2008).

Winners will be announced Aug. 14 in Beijing during the Olympic Games when McDonald’s crew members will be on site serving athletes and media.
