The U.S. Postal Service resumed delivery Friday to virtually all residents and businesses in San Diego County, either from letter carriers or in temporary post offices established for evacuated communities, according to John E. Platt, USPS San Diego district manager.
For areas that are inaccessible, the USPS said it’s working with local officials and making mail available at alternate locations.
As of Friday, wildfires in Southern California had covered about 770 square miles, destroying more than 1,780 homes and resulted in 10 confirmed deaths and 82 injuries, according wire service reports.
