Long John Silver’s Launches Pollock with Sweeps, Coupon Sampling

A new campaign by quick-serve seafood chain Long John Silver’s combines printable coupons for menu samplings with an online sweepstakes that could net the winner $20,000.

The “Spin & Win Fish Fry” is designed to promote the company’s new Crispy breaded Pollock menu item. From now until the end of the game period on April 3, entrants who register for the sweepstakes will also receive one entry into a daily giveaway offering 62 prizes, consisting of a $180 American Express Gift Cheque.

The first 1 million entrants online will also receive a printable coupon good for a free piece of the new breaded pollock item. Coupons will be customized with the registrant’s name and can only be redeemed by that registrant, to keep redemptions to one per person.

However, entrants to the sweepstakes can earn both more entries to the drawing and more coupons by playing the “Spin & Win” meal assembly game on the site. Players can accumulate points for successfully completing each of ten game levels in the allotted time, and each success earns career points that can be traded in for 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10 additional entries into the “Spin & Win” sweepstakes or for up to five additional coupons for free breaded fish.

Players can also link from the spin & Win site to Long John Silver’s Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and YouTube social pages to receive other offers and alerts.

Through February 15, Louisville KY-based Long John Silver’s will also offer free bite-sized samples of its new Pollock item in selected U.S. stores in its 1,000 unit chain. The new item comes in both breaded and crisp-fried varieties.
