IN THE NEWS

DMA Launches Confab for Senior Level List Pros

On Aug. 15 in New York, the Direct Marketing Association will hold Fast Forward 2006, a new conference for senior level data marketing and marketing information professionals in list-related businesses.

Fast Forward 2006 will be an adjunct to the annual List Vision event scheduled for Aug. 16. Unlike List Vision, the Fast Forward conference will focus strictly on education and there will be no exhibit hall.

Steve Forbes, president and CEO of Forbes Inc. will be the keynote speaker. Sessions will cover topics such as branding and positioning, recruiting and retaining employees, data integration and consolidation and streamlining operations.

Many mailers, list owners and lower level executives have attended List Vision (and its predecessor List Day) over the years, but there hasn’t been a conference that specifically addresses the concerns of company owners and senior level list executives, said Andy Ostroy, chairman and CEO of Belardi/Ostroy ALC LLC.

Ostroy participated in a task force comprised of senior level managers that spearheaded the development of this new conference.

Others who worked with the DMA to organize Fast Forward 2006 include Deb Goldstein, IDG List Services; Fran Green, American List Counsel; Lon Mandel, Specialists Marketing Services; Larry May, Direct Media; Linda McAleer, Millard Group; Adrea Rubin, Adrea Rubin Marketing; David Schwartz, 21st Century Marketing; Martin Stein, RMI Direct Marketing and Charles Teller, ParadyszMatera.

For more information contact the DMA at 212-790-1500 or www.the-dma.org/conferences/dmafastforward.
