Brylane Inc. recently launched a blow-in program for its King Size specialty catalog division targeting men who wear large clothing sizes. No more than one insert per catalog will be included in 25 million King Size catalogs mailed annually. Inserts must be 3-1/2 by 5 inches to 5-1/2 by 6 inches, weighing no more than .25 ounce.

MetaBase B-2-B Expansion Due in October

MetaResponse Group Inc. has plans to launch additional list segments in October for its new MetaBase Business Master File, which is presently comprised of nine separate segments based on job title and industry. A new database division has been established that’s being led by Raechel Sorge, MetaBase administrator. Additional list segments will likely to be introduced that target companies in the services sector, including retailers, but nothing definite has been decided yet, said Al DiBlasi, vice president of marketing at MetaResponse, based in Deerfield Beach, FL.

Accounts Moving to New Managers Today

Several list management appointments announced over the last several weeks become effective starting today. Walter Karl Inc. assumes management of the catalog and insert media programs for Casual Male Retail Group Inc. Worldata takes on management of Gruner+Jahr USA’s subscription lists for Inc. and Fast Company magazines. MeritDirect consolidates its account with CFO Publishing Corp., as it becomes manager of the CFO magazine postal file.

Doubleday Book-of-the-Month-Club

Through the end of July the Canadian Doubleday Book-of-the-Month Club package insert and ride-along programs are steeply discounted for mailers willing to test both programs. A $20/M discount is being offered for ride-along tests and a $60/M discount is being offered for PIP tests. Roughly 275,000 ride-along pieces are mailed per month. An estimated 75,000 packages are shipped each month.
