Marketing slogans, or catchphrases that identify a product or company, have helped create great brands. Think of Nike—“Just Do It,” or L’Oreal, “Because you’re worth it.”

Great slogans have key characteristics, like being memorable and including a key benefit. These audible representations catch on and are immediately identifiable to consumers whether the product or company is even in view. Marketers look at these successful catchphrases and aspire to mimic that success for their own brand or product, but it doesn’t always work out that way.
