Law Secretary Tries Marketing Jewelry Online

After a co-worker passed away about three years ago, Valerie Z. Holstead took some time off from her job as a legal secretary, to take stock of her life and see what it would take to make her happy.

Then one day, she bought some beads at a local craft store in Franklin, TX and made a bracelet. That led to her creating bridal jewelry with a double strand Swarovski crystal necklace with freshwater pearl drops, and matching bracelet and chandelier earrings. She began receiving compliments and several requests for something similar. At that point, she knew she was onto something.

Her next step was to approach a variety of area shop owners that began displaying her work on a consignment basis. Last year, she decided to take the plunge and set up her Web site www.zcreationsjewelry.com, which went live just a few months ago.

The site specializes in individually handcrafted beaded jewelry designed with unusual combinations of colors and textures, using an assortment of semi-precious gemstones, Swarovski Austrian crystals, freshwater pearls, handcrafted lampwork beads and other baubles.
