Land O’Lakes Ranked as Top Consumer-Friendly Site: Study

Land O’Lakes has surfaced at the most visitor-friendly Web site among the largest food, beverage and tobacco companies.

The site, www.landolakes.com, received a rating of 9.2 out of 10, according to the study by the Customer Respect Group about how corporations treat their online customers. The dairy foods company placed fourth last year.

The second place finisher, Campbell Soup, was rated 8.7, a tie with Smithfield Foods and Outback Steakhouse.

The additional rankings are as follows:

Kraft Foods 8.5
Anheuser-Busch Cos. 8.4
General Mills 8.2
Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream 7.9
Cracker Barrel Old Country Store 7.9
Pillsbury 7.9
Domino’s 7.9

A number of criteria were measured such as ease of navigation, respect of customer privacy, customer focus of the site, open and honest policies, quick and through responses to inquiries and respect of customer data.

The study evaluated 64 Web sites, including Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, Kellogg’s and Starbucks. The Customer Respect Group is an international research and consulting firm, with offices in Bellevue, WA and Cork, Ireland.
