Krazy Glue Rolls out Video Contest

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Instant Krazy Glue is looking for some consumer ingenuity as part of an online video contest that asks people to create commercials that best showcase its product.

People can enter the “Commercials Gone Krazy” contest by uploading their own commercials less than one minute long to www.commercialsgonecrazy.com through Oct. 31. Each entry should convey the message that there is only one brand of instant glue that strong and fast.

Judging begins Nov. 1. The top 10 videos will be posted online for public voting, which runs Nov. 14 to Dec. 2. The entrant with the most votes will receive a trip for two to Maui, Hawaii. Lesser prizes include 250 Apple gift certificates and Krazy Glue T-shirts.

“With the growing popularity of online video sites like YouTube, this contest will be an enjoyable way for people to experience a well-known brand in a new and creative way,” Mary Beth Cowardin, senior marketing manager for Instant Krazy Glue, said in a statement.

Perhaps the company’s most well known commercial is one that shows an actor hanging from a construction hat attached to a beam with Instant Crazy Glue.

The contest is being promoted on MySpace.com and Facebook.com, where people can check out the Krazy Glue Hanging Man’s profile pages.

Online marketing, including pages on and MySpace.com, and an ad buy on MySpace.com support the contest. SBC Advertising is handling the promotion and PR efforts.
