Johnny Rockets Offers “Rock the Slopes” Wii Sweeps

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Casual restaurant chain Johnny Rockets is offering customers a chance to win a virtual skiing/ski boarding trip this holiday season with its “Rock the Slopes” sweepstakes.

The skiing will come through a Nintendo Wii console, a Wii balance board accessory, and a copy of the Namco Bandai video game “We Ski”.

From now through Jan. 4 2009, customers can enter by getting a sweeps code either from the company’s Web site or by requesting one at a participating restaurant. They can then enter that code at the Web site and receive one entry into the sweepstakes per day.

The “Rock the Slopes” grand prize winner will also receive $2,000 in cash and a $100 gift card for Johnny Rockets. Twenty first prize winners will receive a copy of “We Ski” and a $25 gift card to Johnny Rockets.

The “Rock the Slopes” sweepstakes will be promoted in the restaurants, with advertising on the Johnny Rockets Web site, and through radio and TV ads in selected markets. Northten Inc. is the agency of record for Johnny Rockets.

“This integrated promotion makes sense for both companies,” Johnny Rockets national marketing executive director said in a statement. “Both brands appeal to the same fun-loving clientele—those who seek fun, interact entertainment in their lives.”

“Johnny Rockets is an experiential brand– and a leading edge marketer—which…is able to broaden our exposure among families and young adults,” said Andrew Lelchuk, executive vice president of marketing and sales for Namco Bandai Games America.

Based in Lake Forest CA, the Johnny Rockets chain has more than 250 corporate and franchised outlets in 29 states and 10 countries, including stores in Six Flags amusement parks and on Royal Caribbean cruise ships.
