InfoUSA Uses DRTV to Sell Mailing Lists

In a move unusual for the DM industry, information provider InfoUSA will begin selling sales lead and mailing list products via direct response television.

The Omaha, NB based company’s DRTV promotion will target small office/home office professionals, as well as entrepreneurs, independent contractors, insurance agents and real estate brokers.

“Many of these professionals have never used sales leads and mailing list solutions before because they have limited time and resources to devote to marketing,” noted Vin Gupta, chairman and CEO, in a statement.

The first spot will be for the company’s “Business Sales Leads and Mailing Lists” DVD, which contains data on 14 million U.S. businesses. The price will be $99.95.

This won’t be InfoUSA’s first television exposure. The company was recently featured in a “60 Minutes II” story on the uses of consumer data.
