InfoUSA to Create UK Small Businesses Database

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

InfoUSA will begin compiling data on small businesses in the United Kingdom during 2006. The file will contain information from a variety of publicly available sources, including printed directories.

In addition to the base information, the Omaha, NE-based data firm will conduct between 2 and 3 million telephone surveys every year to augment the file with a variety of information, including: Trading address; name of the owner or manager; number of employees per location; whether the location is rented or owned; whether the business is a single location or part of a larger company; number of PC and telephone lines.

InfoUSA will use this data as the backbone for sales of UK-based mailing lists; the creation of SalesGenie UK; UK business credit reports; a series of printed or DVD business directories; and other licensing opportunities.
