I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter Runs Contest with Deen Brothers

Home cooks who want to test their celebrity-chef mettle can do so in a new Web contest just launched by Unilever’s I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter brand to promote its new product extensions for cooking and baking.

The “Bake It to Believe It” game uses hosts Bobby and Jamie Deen, authors of the “Y’All Come Eat” Southern cookbook, to get registered players mixing and stirring in a virtual kitchen.

Players choose to work on one of seven entrée or dessert recipes and must complete four steps, such as using their mouse to cut a stick of I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter into slices. Players receive points for each completed cooking step and a total score for finishing the recipe.

For the next eight weeks, registered players are eligible for one of several instant-win prizes every day they return to the site to play, ranging from a KitchenAid 5-quart stand mixer and a Le Creuset mixing bowl to cake decorating kits and AirBake cookie sheets. They will also be entered to win the game’s grand prize, a 4-day trip to Savannah, GA, to meet Bobby and Jamie Deen in their restaurant The Lady & Sons.

“We all know how hot and hectic it can get in the kitchen,” Bobby Deen said in a statement. “This is one place where you can have all the fun of cooking without the mess, and win prizes for your real kitchen at home.”

The kitchen’s virtual, but the recipes—for things like blueberry muffins, pound cake and chicken Francese—are real and can be printed for use later on. All the recipes incorporate the new I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter Cooking & Baking sticks, reduced-fat products that act like butter in recipes.
