Huse, Retired President of MASA, Dies

Robert M. Huse, retired president of the Mail Advertising Service Association, died at home in Arlington, VA, on July 25 after a lengthy illness. He was MASA’s president for 23 years before retiring in 1989.

Shortly after his retirement MASA, the trade association representing the direct marketing industry’s printers and service bureaus, created an the Robert M. Huse Award. The award is presented annually for outstanding achievement by a MASA chapter.

Before joining MASA, Huse, a former newspaper reporter and aide to Sen. Edmund S. Muskie (D-ME), handled customer relations for the old Post Office Department, which later became the U.S. Postal Service.

A World War II veteran and graduate of the Boston University School of Journalism, he is survived by his wife, four daughters and seven grandchildren.
