Heinz Offers Second Chance at Consumer-Generated Ad

H.J. Heinz Co. is giving people a second chance to win $57,000 and have their self-made ad appear on TV.

The company is bringing back its user-generated contest in October asking people to submit 30-second videos showing their creativity and passion for Heinz.

“We have been extremely impressed by the tremendous outpour of interest and excitement from writers, directors, actors, singers and producers across the country for the ‘Top This TV Challenge,’” said David Ciesinski, vice president for Heinz Ketchup, in a statement. “We look forward to receiving many more imaginative commercials.”

The ‘Top This TV Take Two’ promotion extends Heinz’s spring ad contest where people created ads for the brand for chance at $57,000 (Promo Xtra, April 17, 2007). The company received more than 4,000 entries under the original contest, the company said.

Fifteen finalists’ ads from the original contest will be up for a vote Aug. 27 to Sept. 10 at Topthistv.com. Four runners-up will receive $5,700 each. All five ads will air on national TV.

Smith Brothers Advertising handles the contest for Heinz.
