Fans of the HBO’s series Taxicab Confessions had the chance to unburden themselves to cab drivers with their own confessions as part of a three-day event to promote the return of the hit series.
HBO celebrated the show’s return after an eight-year hiatus setting up promotional taxis around New York City Feb. 2- 4. During the three-day promo, 2,000 New Yorkers climbed into specially marked cabs and gave “confessions.” For each confession, passengers received a free gift, including logoed T-shirts and recorder pens.
In addition to sharing their confessions, passengers had a chance to preview Taxicab Confessions: New York, New York. The show premiered on Feb. 5 on HBO.
Radio spots supported the promotion. Street teams also distributed about 18,000 keychains, tune-in cards and business card holders. About 36,000 people were exposed to the promotion. Grand Central Marketing handled.
