Graphite Design Tees up Golf Fantasy Sweeps

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Golfers who dream of driving the fairways like Tiger Woods may get their shot by taking part in the fantasy golf game and sweepstakes from club maker Graphite Design.

The Graphite Design Fantasy Golf Tour asks people to pick five players they think will perform best in each of four major golf tournaments between April and August: the Masters, the Players Championship, the U.S. Open, the British Open and the PGA Championship. Participants can log onto http://www.gdintl.com to check their standings on the leaderboard for the upcoming tournament.

Winning sweeps players for each tournament will be named, with ties being resolved by the per-round scores of the players they chose, with lower scores being better. Five winners will then be entered into a random drawing for a two-day trip to Dallas for a playing lesson with Tiger Woods’ golfing coach Hank Haney, or the second prize of a custom-fit set of golf clubs with Graphite Design shafts.

Any winner in an individual tournament round will also be eligible for a $10,000 bonus prize for selecting the top five golfers, in order, for that tournament.

Top finishers in the first four tournaments will all qualify for a chance at the $100,000 grand prize by correctly choosing the top three finishers in the 2008 PGA Championship.

Alongside the registration and leaderboards for the Fantasy Golf Tour, the Graphite Design Web site will run monthly game tips from Haney to encourage repeat visits.

“This is a fun, interactive way for us to generate excitement and connect with consumers throughout the golf industry,” Graphite Design marketing vice president Tim Gillis said in a statement. “Through the Fantasy Golf Tour promotion…we have a way to stay connected with them through the entire golf season.”
