Gillette’s Venus Brand to Auction Mariah Carey’s “Legs”

Posted on

Venus, the female shaving brand, is set to auction off a pair of Mariah Carey look-alike legs.

The partnership between Carey and Gillette, the maker of Venus, calls for the legs to be bid on eBay through Feb. 21. All proceeds will benefit The Fresh Air Fund, a non-for-profit agency that provides free summer vacations to inner-city kids.

The centerpiece of the fund’s Career Awareness Program is Camp Mariah.

The auction ties to a 2006 event where Carey was honored as the first Venus Celebrity Legs of a Goddess at Radio City Music Hall. That event kicked off an annual contest that searches for the American woman with the best legs.

The auction, which began yesterday, had three bids with a high bid of $5.50 in the afternoon.
