Geek Squad Seeks Next Big Idea

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

The Geek Squad, those customer service reps behind the counter at Best Buy, is challenging people to come up with the next big idea.

The winners of the What’s Your Big Idea? challenge will get to attend IdeaFestival to put their ideas into action with help from Geek Squad agents. The event, to be held Sept. 13-15 in Louisville, KY, brings together thinkers from around the globe to explore innovative, imaginative and cutting-edge ideas.

Entrants can submit solutions through Aug. 13 to the following topics at GeekSquad.com/IdeaFestival

* eWaste
* Power conservation
* Maximizing untapped resources

Qualifying submissions will be posted on the Web site through Aug. 13, when a public voting will take place. The 20 submissions that receive the most votes will be named finalists.

After the finalists have been determined, judges will select nine winners—three for each topic–to fly to Louisville.

Geek Squad is the title sponsor of IdeaFestival and the official technical support for the event. There are close to 12,000 active Geek Squad agents in all U.S. Best Buy stores, all Canadian Best Buy stores and at Geek Squad stand-alone store
