Forrester Research Cuts 5% of its Workforce

Forrester Research, Inc. has cut its workforce by about 50 jobs, or about 5% of its workforce. The cuts were made across various functions and geographies worldwide.

The company said the reduction in staff would not affect service from its analysts and research teams. It said the number of people on its research team is the highest it has been in the company’s 25-year history.

“After the workforce reduction, Forrester’s research headcount is 14% above what it was in February 2008,” the company said in a statement.

Forrester said it would incur pre-tax expenses of approximately $2.5 to $3 million dollars in the first quarter of 2009, related to cash severance and related benefits costs. The company is also evaluating associated facilities-related costs.
