ForestEthics Launches Effort for Do Not Mail Registry

Conservation group ForestEthics has launched a campaign to establish a Do Not Mail Registry modeled on the telemarketing do-not-call registry.

The San Francisco-based group is urging Americans to sign a petition at http://www.DoNotMail.org.

So far the organization said it has amassed 20,000 petition signatures that it is sending to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

ForestEthics, has had some success in the past in convincing catalogers to reform their paper procurement practices.
