Ethnic Women’s Buying Power to Hit $1 Trillion by 2008

Ethnic women will have more than $1 trillion in buying power by 2008, according to a study from Packaged Facts.

The 32 million African-American, Hispanic and Asian women in the U.S. have a combined $723 billion in purchasing power. That population will grow to 36 million by 2008.

African-American, Hispanic and Asian women have different attitudes than Caucasian women about dieting, advertising and kids’ influence on purchasing decisions. But each group has its own differences, too.

“Diversity is about more than ethnicity and race,” said Packaged Facts Acquisitions Editor Don Montuori in a statement. “There are remarkable differences [between] Black, Hispanic and Asian-American women in health status, attitudes toward food, shopping behavior and use of cosmetics.”

The study, U.S. Women Multicultural Market, is available from New York City-based Packaged Facts, a division of MarketResearch.com.
